Least Expensive, Best Quality Prints

Many people like to print their own photos, a good solution if you need a photo in a hurry. But because of the cost of the ink and paper, it's actually more cost effective, and often you get better quality (think about fading), by having them printed elsewhere.

There are several choices for getting prints elsewhere, often without leaving the comfort of your own home.

Many photo processing labs, camera stores, variety stores, even drug stores have self service kiosks that enable you to insert your camera's card, crop and make simple edits to your image, and print out the photo(s) you want in a matter of minutes using high quality ink and paper at a very reasonable cost.

You could also consider using an online photo sharing site such as Shutterly, Kodak Gallery, Snapfish or Costco. These are free services that enable you to upload your images from the comfort of your own home and store them on their servers (great backup!).

After your images are uploaded, it's easy to send a link to your photos to your friends and family (much more efficient than attaching them to emails especially for a bunch of photos), order prints, t-shirts, mugs, mouse pads etc..

After they are printed, you can pick them up from a local provider, or, have them mailed to you.

For users of Picasa (Google's free image editing software), it is easy to select the images you want to have printed, then click the 'Order Prints' button at the bottom. You will get a choice of several providers, often with good price promotions.
